Please fix the random crashes on Apple M series.

One of the best ear training tools I tried in a decade. Like others said, I wish we could stay in that same lesson and experiment with the Q and gain to really nail what's going on, instead of just skipping to the next lesson.

Also, I don't know if it's just me, but the target EQ sometimes sounds worse than the default 'Your eq'. Maybe this is on purpose so we can hear problems, or maybe it's my ears that suck.

I would GLADLY pay for this if the Target EQ were actually 'good' so we can actually train ourselves to notice what's generally considered a good vs bad mix.

Very good, interesting, and professional . but i can train maximum of 45 minutes at once

dope, fun, PLEASE in the next update, make it so we can go back and check where the mistake was made so we can hear how off we were to A/B our submission to the answer, and I still don't understand how I fail the range be on but I fail and on some I pass when its off a little, meaning I don't have a great understanding of how this works as far as pass and fail

WOULD LOVE TO MOVE CURVES AFTER SUBMIT ANSWERS. WOULD LOVE TO BE ABLE TO CREATE BATTLES WITH FRIENDS.

I love this app.. However, I request a change for sure. Please allow us to edit the curves once you submit the answer. It would be nice to be able to go back and see how changing it to the correct curve really affects things. There have been many times that I have gotten something wrong and couldn't hear where things were wrong. It would be nice to be able to sweep and see why my frequencies were off.

Great alternative for SoundGym, especially as it's free and you can upload your favourite tracks.
A couple of issues:
1. I really need to change my eq curve after answering, so I can really notice the difference and actually learn something. Without that, I'm really just testing my skills, not improving them.
2. I'm being logged out every time I close the app.
3. Custom songs reset after closing the app and I need to re-add them every time, which is really annoying.

I wasn't expecting much from this, but it's actually really fun and it works. At first you think it's a bit eh, but you quickly realize it's because your ears aren't 100% tuned in. After a while, you start to notice the subtle frequency differences. I really thought it was my headphones at first, but after a week, I went from 75% on everything to 90% - 95%.

I do have an issue but... for some reason my game state doesn't save... After I reboot my computer, it's always at stage 1, even with login. It would also be awesome if you could skip the tutorial since it's fun to go back to the earlier stages to get 100%.

as a beginner mix engineer, practicing this a couple of minutes a day has definitely improved my ears. Hopefully we can get a Compression Academy :)

I really enjoy this Tool it´s a great way to get practical, a thing sometomes overlooked in times of Masterclass for everything by everyone. Really 100% Love for giving this out for free.

The But is only cause my Ambition is triggered to get in this Highscore List ;)
But.. it crashes so often, that iam doing Level 60 for the 6th time now. And the Q-Factor seems to change every Band at once. That´s also kind of more difficult to achieve things.

A great tool, scaffolded well to learn to hear boost vs cut, then range, then interactions. Would love to be able to change "my eq" after revealing the solution so I could zero in on the difference between mine and the reference.

This is by far the best free tool I have used for ear training. It is very intuitive, I even kind of have fun while training.

I’d gladly pay for the next version of this if it’s compression saturation reverb this is next level

I love training my ear with this software and I discover skills I didn't realize before. I recommend it!

A long time ago I encountered something similar on the internet based on gain staging but it disappeared. I also found some paid sites that focused on EQing, pitch identification, and stereo imaging but to be honest, I'm exhausted of subscription based services. EQ Academy is a breath of fresh air. It helps me train my ears for my own production while staying interesting by letting you put in other songs. I was struggling on how to master the REFERENCE 2 plugin but this is the greatest partner to that, MIXROOM and BASSROOM. I'm thankful for this free service and I hope they keep it going and update it from time to time. People like me need it.

I have been mixing for a long time as a hobby and as needed but always had the feeling that I'm flying by ear and I don't really know if I was doing it by knowing what to do or just winging it.

EQ ACADEMY was finally really a tool that made it possible for me to get a valid score and see how I am improving over time.

A really helpful ear training product. Plenty of thought, effort and time clearly went into the creation of this software. Thanks to Mastering The Mix for making it free to everyone.

Given that most training tools are paywalled I feel the fact that this is a free tool is just brilliant and hard not to recommend to anyone wanting to work on there EQ abilities.
The gradual progression is a welcomed approach espesially keeping Q control until a little later and also having a visible boundary in place helps to make adjustments that little bit quicker.
As somewhat of a veteran gamer I have/will always prefer cooperation over competition and the same goes for any kind of creative medium, it's a personnal thing of course and I can understand people who enjoy climbing leaderboards but it's not for me.
One bit of advice, and this goes for time in the studio as well: take regular breaks. This app makes it very easy to just keep going, a little dopamine hit and your onto the next challenge, be mindful of ear fatigue and your health.

With a sound track that quickly gets stuck in your head comes the opportunity to grow in something so elusive as critical listening. Making eq'ing as addictive as gambling while winning streak prizes and concurring the global leaderboard. Even though there is room for improvement, I really enjoy playing this game and thank the makers. Somewhere in the future I would love to be able to midi map the eq controls to my Novation Launchcontrol XL to be able to play this without leaning on my eyes while listening to the differences between my eq and the target eq.
