Installer Manager Manual

The Installer Manager is the easiest way to install, update and manage all your Mastering The Mix plugins from one place. Install it once, and it takes care of the rest — no more hunting for downloads or licence keys.

There are two versions:

  • Installer Manager (the standard version) — needs an internet connection. It shows your licences, personalised offers, and always has the latest versions of everything.
  • Installer Manager (Offline) — for studio computers that never go online. Everything it needs is included in one big download.

Most people should use the standard version.

1Getting set up

Download and install

Download the Installer Manager from masteringthemix.com.

Platform What to do
Mac Open the installer and follow the steps. The first time you launch the app it may ask "Move to your Applications folder?" — click Move to Applications. This keeps the app where updates expect to find it.
Windows Run the installer and follow the steps. You'll find the app in your Start menu as Installer Manager.

First launch

The first time you open the app:

  1. Licence agreement — have a read, tick the box, and continue.
  2. Pick your formats — choose the plug-in formats your music software (DAW) uses. Not sure? Just pick the one for your DAW from the table below. You can change this any time in Settings (the gear icon, top right).
  3. Sign in — click Log in. Your web browser will open so you can sign in with your Mastering The Mix account (the one you used when you bought your plugins). Once you're signed in, hop back to the app — it carries on automatically. Don't have an account? Click Create an account — it's free.
Format Used by
VST3 Ableton Live, Cubase, FL Studio, Studio One and most others
Audio Unit (AU) Logic Pro and GarageBand (Mac only)
AAX Pro Tools

2Installing & updating your plugins

Once you're signed in, you'll see all your plugins listed. Each one shows a coloured dot:

GreenInstalled & up to date

You're all set — this plugin is installed and running the latest version.

AmberUpdate available

A newer version is ready. Click Update on the row, or Update all in the banner.

GreyNot installed yet

You own it but haven't installed it. Click Install to add it.

  • To install one plugin, click Install on its row.
  • To install everything you own in one go, click Install all in the banner near the top.
  • When updates are ready, you'll see an "updates available" banner — click Update all, or Update on an individual plugin.

You'll see a progress bar while each plugin downloads and installs.

Please leave the app open until it finishes.
A password prompt is normal

Your computer may ask for your password (Mac) or show a permission window (Windows) — this is normal. Plugins install into protected folders, and your computer just wants to check it's okay. Enter your password or click Yes and the install continues.

When it's done, restart your DAW (or rescan your plugins) and your new plugins will appear.

Uninstalling

Click Uninstall on a plugin's row and confirm. This removes every format of that plugin from your computer.

3Your licences

Your licence keys appear right on each plugin's row — no more digging through emails.

  • Copy a key — click COPY next to the key (it flashes COPIED). Paste it into the plugin when it asks to be activated.
  • Activations — each licence works on a limited number of computers. The row shows how many you're using, e.g. ACTIVATIONS 2 / 4.
  • Moving to a new computer? If you've used up your activations, click Reset next to the activation count.
What a reset does

A reset signs the licence out of every computer that's using it — each one will simply re-activate the next time you open the plugin there, so it's nothing to worry about, just good to know.

If the app spots licences on your account that haven't been claimed yet, a banner will offer to claim them for you — one click and they're yours.

4Settings & help

Where What it does
Settings Gear icon, top right. Change which plug-in formats get installed, and on Windows, where they're installed.
Help Question-mark icon. Quick-start tips, video tutorials, and a link to our support team.
Refresh Bottom left. Checks for new versions and offers right away.

5The Offline Installer

If your studio computer never connects to the internet, use Installer Manager (Offline). It's one large download (made on a computer that is online) that contains the app plus every plugin installer inside it.

You'll find the download link in the app's Help page (Get the offline installer) or on our support site.

How to use it

  1. On a computer with internet, download the offline installer.
  2. Copy it to your studio computer with a USB stick or drive.
  3. Run it, then open Installer Manager and install your plugins exactly as described above — no internet needed.

What's different offline?

  • No sign-in, no offers, and no licence keys shown — the app is purely for installing and updating.
  • You'll activate your plugins the usual way inside the plugin itself, using the licence key from your order email or your account at account.masteringthemix.com/orders.
  • The plugin versions are the ones from when the bundle was made. To get newer versions later, download a fresh offline installer and run it again.
