I help producers finish records that compete with the best, and I build the tools that get them there.
I started offering online mastering in 2012. Truthfully, in the early days I couldn't give the service away. I kept refining how I worked, built tools to make my own decisions faster and more consistent, and the masters kept getting better. Those tools became Mastering The Mix.
Since then I've mastered thousands of tracks for artists at every level, with over 1,000 five-star reviews on SoundBetter. I've mastered records for Calvin Harris, Tiesto and Niall Horan, and stem mastered remixes including a Calvin Harris remix and a Niall Horan remix for Tiesto. For the Calvin Harris remix I was invited to his private studio complex in Amsterdam, which was an experience I won't forget.
In 2016 I posted on the JUCE developer forum with an offer that read "anyone want 50% of nothing?" One developer replied. That was Nash, and together we built LEVELS, the first Mastering The Mix plugin. The company now makes eleven plugins and a free ear-training app, used by producers and engineers around the world. More recently I co-created the FASTER MASTER plugin with David Guetta and Nicky Romero.
The belief behind everything I build is simple: better music comes from better decisions, and the right tools should teach you while you use them. I write most of the educational content on this blog for the same reason. Mastering shouldn't be a dark art reserved for people with expensive rooms.
